Kuala Lumpur Bar 30th Anniversary Dinner

This year, the Kuala Lumpur Bar Committee, in celebration of its 30th anniversary, decided to celebrate by organising a formal dinner for members of the Kuala Lumpur Bar to celebrate its history of 30 years. The Dinner was held on 7 January 2023 at the Nusantara Ballroom, Sheraton Imperial Kuala Lumpur Hotel, with the theme “Monochrome (Black & White)”.

A history walk was created in order to commemorate our glorious milestone and to have junior members recognise the history of the Kuala Lumpur Bar as well as all the efforts taken by the members who have served on the Kuala Lumpur Bar Committee and the Secretariat over the past years.

As part of the event, we also recognised Mary Tan, who was instrumental in the establishment of the Kuala Lumpur Bar Secretariat, which commenced operations in July 1992. Mary had served 16 chairpersons during her tenure at the Kuala Lumpur Bar. A montage was created and gifts presented to acknowledge Mary’s efforts, and the Kuala Lumpur Bar is eternally grateful for everything that Mary has done in her 44 years of service.

Some other activities included a lucky draw for prizes and a cake cutting ceremony by the past chairpersons of the Kuala Lumpur Bar Committee.

The dinner ended before midnight, and we trust that attendees have strengthened their camaraderie amongst each other. The dinner was a success, and we extend our appreciation to the Secretariat, who are the backbone of the Kuala Lumpur Bar Committee.
