3 October 2017 Seminar on Drafting Commercial Contracts Organised by the Professional Development Committee, this seminar was presented by Jeremiah R. Gurusamy at the KL Bar Auditorium from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. The seminar was attended by 114 participants and covered, amongst others, "Dealing with Compliance & Regulatory issues"; "Scoping the Transaction"; "Drafting Techniques"; "Understanding Key Provisions"; "Boiler Plate Clauses"; and "Common Mistakes & Pitfalls”.  4 October 2017 Pupils Introduction Session A monthly tradition, the October’s Pupils Introduction Session was held on 4 October 2017. The session, attended by 72 pupils, was led by Alvin Oh. The purpose of the session is to introduce pupils to the structure of the Malaysian Bar and the Kuala Lumpur Bar, the election to both the Bar Council and the Kuala Lumpur Bar Committee (“KLBC”) and the highlights of the Malaysian Bar. 6 September 2017 Pupils Introduction Session A monthly tradition, the September’s Pupils Introduction Session was held on 6 September 2017. The session, attended by 74 pupils, was led by Alvin Oh. The purpose of the session is to introduce pupils to the structure of the Malaysian Bar and the Kuala Lumpur Bar, the election to both the Bar Council and the Kuala Lumpur Bar Committee (“KLBC”) and the highlights of the Malaysian Bar. It included a session for pupils to raise issues and problems faced by them during their pupillage period. The executive committee members of the KLBC were present to provide input and possible solutions to those issues and problems raised by the pupils. For the Diversity Awareness Session, the Kuala Lumpur Bar Committee Chairman, Goh Siu Lin, spoke on “Unconscious Bias”.
