Organised by the Young Lawyers Committee, this event was held from 8:30pm to 9:30pm. The speakers were Shugan Raman, Nirvan, Vivek, Sin Yew, Melissa Lim, Tan Hui Wen and David Lim. There was a steady flow of between 130 to 140 listeners.

We had 55 participants and they were divided into groups of 4 or 5 per team. The winning team was Team Chilling who won Grab Vouchers sponsored by the KLBC Chairman Vivek Sukumaran. The team members were Muhendaran Suppiah, Thulasy Suppiah, Shaun Kee and Mitchel Chan.

Meeting With Ministry Of Health (“MOH”)
The meeting was held at 2:00pm via Zoom and it was to discuss the procedures and process of the Covid-19 swab test for suspects at the Jinjang and Dang Wangi Remand Centres. The Kuala Lumpur Bar Committee was represented by the Chairman, Vivek Sukumaran, Chairperson of the Criminal Law Practice Committee, Collin Arvind Andrew and Chairperson of the KL Legal Aid Centre, Yoges M. Verasuntharam. The meeting was also attended by three representatives from the office of the Legal Aid Centre namely Sumitra Veeriah, Jeevanathan Angappan and Morhan.

Meeting With The Ministry Of Science, Technology And Innovation (“MOSTI”)
The meeting with MOSTI was held on Wednesday, 23 June 2021 via Zoom. Present at the meeting were the Chairman, Vivek Sukumaran, the Honorary Secretary Alvin Oh and YB Khairy Jamaluddin, the Right Honourable Minister charged with coordinating immunisation efforts to facilitate prioritised vaccination for Members and Pupils-in-Chambers of the Malaysian Bar.

A presentation was given to the Minister highlighting the risks of exposure to Covid-19 faced by Members and Pupils-in-Chambers of the Malaysian Bar in the discharge of their duties as lawyers.

MOSTI agreed to prioritise the vaccination of Members and Pupils-in-Chambers of the Malaysian Bar who had registered their interest in a google form that was emailed in Circular No 131/2021.

Pupils Introduction Session
The Pupils Introduction Session in June was held online via Zoom. Led by Rajsurian Pillai, the session was attended by 85 pupils. The purpose of the Pupils Introduction Session is to introduce pupils to the structure of the Malaysian Bar and the Kuala Lumpur Bar, the election to both the Bar Council and the Kuala Lumpur Bar Committee (“KLBC”) and the highlights of the Malaysian Bar. It included a session for pupils to raise issues and problems faced by them during their pupillage period.
 
Also included in the said Pupils Introduction Session was a session on “Diversity & Inclusion” which aim was to educate and create awareness among the pupils on, inter alia, issues related to gender sensitisation, sexual harassment and unconscious bias. The session was conducted by Dr. Bahma Sivasubramaniam, Specialist Programme Coordinator, Masters in Converged Telecommunications Policy and Regulations of Faculty of Management, Multimedia University and Thulasy Suppiah, Chairperson of the Gender Equality & Diversity Committee.
