YLC Sports Carnival on 31.10.2010

The festive seasons are over. All invitations to open house will have to take a back seat until next year. Thus there is no more excuse not to start burning those extra weights gained. It's time to burn that flab! In support of leading a healthy lifestyle the KL Bar Young Lawyers Committee ("KLYLC") will be organising a sports carnival to churn and grind those lethargic muscles and at the same time encourage young lawyers to foster closer ties amongst others under the goodwill of sports. Details pertaining to the carnival are as follows:-

Date: 31 October 2010 (Sunday)
Time:10 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Venue: The Challenger Sports Complex PJ, Jalan Semangat, Section 14 PJ (Opposite Dutch Lady/Beside the new BMW showroom on Jalan Semangat). 

Sports: Badminton and Futsal (to be played simultaneously).



Rules and regulations are as follows:

KLYLC FUTSAL CARNIVAL FORMAT

GENERAL RULES
1. Futsal is ONLY open to practising lawyer and pupils-in-chambers.
2. Limited to only 16 teams.
3. It will be on a “first come first serve basis"
4. Every team must have a MAXIMUM of 8 players and MINIMUM 5 players
5. Entry fee: RM 80 PER TEAM
6. Every team MUST have a jersey to avoid confusion.
7. Length of each game:-
7 MINUTES FIRST HALF
1 MINUTE-BREAK
7 MINUTES SECOND HALF
8. Initial Format: Double knockout (However may change depending on the circumstances of event.) We will follow the rules of Fifa on futsal i.e no offside trap, no body contact etc


KLYLC BADMINTON CARNIVAL FORMAT

1. Events to be held:-
a. Men's Singles
b. Men's Doubles
c. Women's Singles
d. Women's Doubles
e. Mixed Doubles

2. Qualification: All players MUST be either practising lawyers or pupils-in-chambers.

3. Minimum players : Every event must have at least 4 players/pairings for it to proceed.

4. For players who represent the Malaysian Bar, they will be seeded.

5. Format - Double Knockout. First Round Losers go to Plate event. (However may change depending on the circumstances of event.) Best of 3 sets. 21 points. International IBF rules apply.

6. Decision of Umpire is final. No Appeal will be entertained (remember it is a carnival and not a World Championship)

7. Entry fee : RM10 PER PLAYER PER EVENT.
