KL Bar Environmental & Humanities Committee would like to remind all members of KL Bar, Pupil-In-Chambers, their family and friends to support this global annual event known as Earth Hour. At 8.30pm on 27.03.2010, whether at work or at your home shut down as many electrical equipment as possible, turn off the lights and be engulfed with a sense of pride and fulfillment as you sit back and contemplate that you are part of a global event for at least an hour.

The Communications and Multimedia Content Forum of Malaysia (CMCF) is an independent self- regulatory body set up via the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 (CMA’98) in 2001 and operates under the auspices of the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC). Designated by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission on 29 March 2001, the CMCF is made up of six 'Ordinary' member categories, namely - Advertisers, Audiotext Hosting Service Providers, Broadcasters, Civic Groups, Content Creators/Distributors and Intern et Access Service Providers. The CMCF governs content by self-regulation in line with the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Content Code (Content Code) which is a set of industry guidelines for the usage and/or dissemination of content via the electronic networked medium for public consumption. On 23.01.2010, the Kuala Lumpur Bar Environmental Law and Humanities Committee organised a study trip to the Kuala Gandah Elephant Sanctuary and Deer Land Park . The members of the Bar as well as their friends and family members had taken part in this informative trip. The 36 participants had gathered at the Kuala Lumpur Sentral station as early as 9.00am and had begun their journey at 10.00am thereafter. Participants reached their first destination, Deer Land Park at 11.30am. Throughout the visit at Deer Land Park the participants were guided by the keeper of the said Park. The participants were given the opportunity to get closer with the animals there, such as Deer, Wild Cats, Python, Bear, and many other protected and exotic species. Feeding the Deers, taking pictures with the Bear as well as holding the Python was the most memorable occasion that was enjoyed by the participants and indeed was a new experience for many of them.
