1st KL Bar YLC Meeting and Young Lawyers Cocktail

The KL Bar Young Lawyers Committee (“KLYLC”) for the term 2009/2010 is calling its 1st meeting on 3.4.2009 at 5pm at the KL Bar Auditorium, 10th Floor, Wisma Kraftangan, No.9 Jalan Tun Perak, 50050 Kuala Lumpur. This year, the KLYLC is expanding and we certainly wish to see more young lawyers joining us! There will be 4 exciting sub committees which you can choose from and they are: (a) Community Projects (b) Practice Management (c) Professionals Networking Unit (d) External Liaison Unit If you wish to know more what is keeping the KL Young Lawyers busy these days, do attend our 1st meeting. KL Bar Earth Hour

Earth Hour 2009 is set to be the largest environmental event in history. Shame on you if you are not part of it! Size does matter! What is the measure of your carbon footprint? While the former has many connotations, the Kuala Lumpur Bar Committee invites all of you to partake in this global event towards sustainability and minimising the effects of climate change by reducing the size of your carbon footprint. The event known as “Earth Hour” finds its origins in Australia where it was first celebrated two years ago when it was estimated that 2.2 million people and thousands of businesses observed a power shut down and even while the event is still at its infancy has managed to garner overwhelming support effortlessly throughout the world. Pupils Workshop on Criminal Litigation

Dear Pupils in Chambers, The Pupils’ Welfare Committee is organising criminal litigation workshops. The workshops will focus primarily on the practical aspects of handling a brief, covering the following areas: Criminal Litigation 1. Client Interview 2. Mitigation 3. Bail Application 4.
