26.6.2010-The External Liaison Committee ("ELC"), a committee under the purview of the Kuala Lumpur Young Lawyers Committee ("KLYLC") embarked on its yearly visit when the volunteering lawyers visited the new KDU College ("KDU ") campus at 76, Jalan University, Petaling Jaya . We were informed that the new campus now houses the School of Business and Law and that the batch of students attending the talk that morning was generally the first batch of students from the January 2010 intake . Primarily the objectives of the visits, is to ideally manage the expectation of the students planning to carve out a career in the legal industry thus the volunteer lawyers attending the workshop were tasked with giving advice, insights and likewise sharing their experience with the students. The External Liaison Committee (" ELC "), a committee under the purview of the Kuala Lumpur young Lawyers Committee (" KLYLC ") embarked on its last visit for the year when the volunteer lawyers visited Taylor's University College (" Taylors ") on 31.10.2009. The volunteer lawyers that attended the workshop in Taylors were Lai Chee Hoe, Sandesh Kabir, Fam Yu Min, Kenneth Wong Poh Lim, Chan Kit Keong, Andrew Liew, Samuel, Choo Mun Wai, Aston Paiva, and Foong Cheng Leong. The session, which was attended by over 30 first year law students, was lively and interactive. The session was opened by Sandesh Kabir delivering a short welcoming speech to the students explaining the objectives of the visit i.e. to manage their expectations in view of practicing law in future. The students were then segregated into different tutorial halls and the volunteer lawyers were dispatched into the respective halls to proceed with workshop agenda. During the works...

A project initiated by the KLYLC 2005/06, this program involves visiting the Law Faculties of Universities around Klang Valley to meet the LLB undergraduates and it continues to top the list of the many activities the KLYLC organises. On 1.8.2009 and 8.8.2009 the KLYLC literally went back to school to meet the students of University Malaya (“UM”) and University Teknologi Mara (“UITM”).
