The Kuala Lumpur Bar Blog

A Blood Donation Campaign, jointly organised by the KL Bar Social, Art & Culture Committee and the KL Court with the assistance of the National Blood Bank, was held on 19 May 2014 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm at Level 2 of the Kuala Lumpur Court Complex at Jalan Duta. Members of the Bar, Court staff and members of the public nobly came forward to participate in this Blood Donation Drive. A total of 81 donors registered. Unfortunately, only 69 were eligible to donate. The 12 were rejected because they were either underweight, having high blood pressure or low blood pressure, had recent piercings or tattoos, or had lived in the United Kingdom from 1980 till 1996 or in Europe between 1980 until the present.  A total of 69 units of blood were collected from the caring donors. With the assistance of the National Blood Bank, a Blood Donation Drive was held on 13 May 2013 at Level 2 of the Kuala Lumpur Court Complex at Jalan Duta. Members of the Bar, Court staff and members of the public nobly came forward to participate in this Blood Donation Drive.  A total of 64 donors registered. Unfortunately, only 47 were eligible to donate. The 17 were rejected because they were either underweight, having high blood pressure or low blood pressure or had lived in the United Kingdom from 1980 till 1996 or in Europe between 1980 until the present.  A total of 47 units of blood were collected from the caring donors.  

W ith the assistance of the National Blood Bank, a Blood Donation Drive was held on 14 May 2012 at Level 2 of the Kuala Lumpur Court Complex at Jalan Duta. Members of the Bar, Court staff and members of the public nobly came forward to participate in this Blood Donation Drive.  A total of 54 donors registered. Unfortunately, only 43 were eligible to donate. The 11 were rejected because they were either underweight, having high blood pressure or low blood pressure or had lived in the United Kingdom from 1980 till 1996 or in Europe between 1980 until the present.  A total of 43 units of blood were collected from the caring donors. On 28.06.2010, the KL Bar Social Arts & Culture Committee with the assistance of the National Blood Bank organised a Blood Donation Drive at Level 2, Kuala Lumpur Court Complex, Jalan Duta, Kuala Lumpur . Members of the Bar as well as Court staff, policemen and members of the public came forward to participate in this Blood Donation Drive . The Chairman of the Kuala Lumpur Bar Committee, Mr. Anand Ponnudurai was the first to arrive but unfortunately he could not donate his blood due to the reason being that he had lived in the United Kingdom between 1980 and 1996. There were 50 donors registered but only 37 could donate. 13 were rejected because they were either underweight, having high blood pressure or low blood pressure or had lived in the United Kingdom from 1980 till 1996 or in Europe between 1980 and now.
