KL BAR BLOOD DONATION DRIVE ON 28.06.2010

On 28.06.2010, the KL Bar Social Arts & Culture Committee with the assistance of the National Blood Bank organised a Blood Donation Drive at Level 2, Kuala Lumpur Court Complex, Jalan Duta, Kuala Lumpur. Members of the Bar as well as Court staff, policemen and members of the public came forward to participate in this Blood Donation Drive.

The Chairman of the Kuala Lumpur Bar Committee, Mr. Anand Ponnudurai was the first to arrive but unfortunately he could not donate his blood due to the reason being that he had lived in the United Kingdom between 1980 and 1996. There were 50 donors registered but only 37 could donate. 13 were rejected because they were either underweight, having high blood pressure or low blood pressure or had lived in the United Kingdom from 1980 till 1996 or in Europe between 1980 and now. A total of 37 units of blood were collected from the caring donors.

A big thank you to all those who donated their blood at this Blood Donation Drive and not forgetting those who turned up but could not donate.
