7 January 2017 3rd KL Bar Pool Tournament 2017 This tournament was held on 7 January 2017 at 5ive Star Pool & Billiard SS15, Ground Floor, Subang Square Corporate Tower, Jalan SS15/4G. It was doubles competition with a handicap system to promote participation amongst new players. In total 10 pairs registered to play with the final, played on 19 January 2017. There was only 1 mixed doubles pair and 1 ladies doubles pair. They created a surprise when they both qualified for the semi-finals, beating out some more fancied pairs. The semi-finals were opposite affairs, one being a lopsided 8-0 win and the other going down to the wire with the ladies doubles pair losing 6-9 after leading 6-5 and needing only one more frame to win. The final was a cagey one though sprinkled with some excellent safety shots and kick shots. Eventually, Michael Tan Ching Hooi and Eugene Teo ran out deserving winners by a score of 9-6!
