Fight Against Human Trafficking
Organised
by the Criminal Law Practice Committee, this webinar was presented by Dato' Sri
M. Ramachelvam and moderated by Jason Kong.
The
webinar covered the following areas: -
(i)
“Elements of Human Trafficking”;
(ii)
“The Anti-Trafficking Persons (TIP) Law in Malaysia”;
(iii)
“The Difference between Trafficking and Migrant Smuggling”;
(iv)
“US TIP Report”;
(v)
“Malaysia’s Response to Trafficking in Persons – National Anti-Trafficking in
Persons Action Plan 3.0 [NAPTIP 3.0]”;
(vi)
“ASEAN Convention Against Trafficking in Persons, especially women &
children”;
(vii)
“ASEAN Plan of Action Against Trafficking in Persons”; and
(viii)
“Review of Trafficking Cases in Malaysia”.
It
was held via Zoom from 2:30pm to 4:30pm. We had 35 participants.

Chinese New Year Social
The
Chinese New Year Social was held on 16 January 2025 (Thursday) from 7:00pm to
11:00pm at BOB, Publika Shopping Gallery, Publika. This event featured Master
Derek, a well-known feng shui master. A total of 40 participants registered for
this event.

10th KL Bar Run 2025
The
10th Anniversary of the KL Bar Run took place on Saturday, 18 January 2025 at
Padang Merbok, Kuala Lumpur. The run was flagged off at 7:08am by Mr. Michael
Chew, Vice President of Chery Malaysia.
This
year’s run was held in collaboration with Care2Run, a sports mentoring program
mentoring youths aged 8-18 years, with a special focus on children with higher
learning needs from diverse social and economic backgrounds.
With
an unprecedented 413 teams and a total of 1,634 runners, including
approximately 32 members of the Judiciary, the 10th Anniversary of the KL Bar
Run 2025 shattered participation records, making it the largest edition yet.
