was conducted by Foong Cheng Leong and Pau Ling Hee at the Kuala Lumpur Bar

Pupils Admission To The Bar Briefing
The Pupils Admission to the Bar Briefing in June was held via Zoom from 10:00am to 11:20am on 12 June 2023 with, 67 students attending the briefing and; on 27 June 2023, from 11:00am to 12:10pm, with 71 students attending the briefing. Both briefings were led by Weera Premananda.

Pupils Introduction And Diversity & Inclusion Session
The Pupils Introduction Session in June was held on 12 June 2023 at the Kuala Lumpur Bar Auditorium from 2:30pm to 6:00pm. Led by Weera Premananda, the session was attended by 81 pupils. The purpose of the Pupils Introduction Session was to introduce pupils to the structure of the Malaysian Bar and the Kuala Lumpur Bar, the election purpose to both the Bar Council and the Kuala Lumpur Bar Committee, and the highlights of the Malaysian Bar. It included a session for students to discuss issues and problems they encountered during their pupillage period.
Also included in the said Pupils Introduction Session was a session on “Diversity & Inclusion: Unconscious Bias”. The aim of this segment is to educate and create awareness about how our unconscious biases and innate prejudices lead to poor judgment and poor decision-making, which in turn result in unintentional discrimination and overall poor "“diversity & inclusion"” practices in our workplaces. The session was conducted by Tay Kit Hoo and Brenda Rangithan, co-chairpersons of the Gender Equality & Diversity Committee.

Refugee And Asylum Seekers Legal Aid Scheme (RALAS) Meeting With UNHCR
A meeting between UNCHR, Bar Council and the Bar Council Legal Aid Centre (Kuala Lumpur) (“LAC KL”) took place on 12 June 2023 from 11:00am to 1:30pm to discuss on the logistics for the carrying out of the RALAS program. The RALAS program is designed to create legal awareness amongst refugee communities by providing outreach sessions.
INTERSTATE BAR GAMES 2023 (“ISBG”) – HOST BY KUALA TERENGGANU BAR
Organised by the Terengganu Bar Committee, the following games were played on 16 & 17 June 2023:-

III. Ladies Futsal
IV. Netball
V. Badminton
VI. Premier Football
VII. Veterans Football
VIII. Darts
IX. Cross Country
X. Snooker
XI. Bowling (a new addition to the games)
XII. Table Tennis - (a new addition to the games)
The Kuala Lumpur Bar emerged as the overall champion. The Kuala Lumpur Bar also won the Bowling, Snooker, Golf, Netball, Volleyball, Badminton, Cross-Country, and Veterans Football competitions.

Refugee And Asylum Seekers Legal Aid Scheme (RALAS) Training of Trainers
A session on Training of Trainers (“TOT”) for RALAS lawyers was
conducted on 23 June 2023 from 8:30am to 5:30pm, at the Bar Council Auditorium.
The session presented by Collin Arvind Andrew, Chandra Segaran, Kasthuri and
Muhammad Hariz bin Md Yusof along with the representatives from UNHCR. A total
of 20 participants attended the training.

Organised by the Young Lawyers Committee, this hike was held on 24 June 2023 at
Taman Tugu. It was held from 8:00am to 10:30am and was attended by 50
participants.

was held via Zoom from 2:30pm to 4:00pm. We had 32 participants.
