It was held via Zoom Meeting from 3:00pm to 5:30pm and covered, amongst others, “What is a will?”; “Provisions of the Wills Act”; “Legal requirements for a valid will”; “Petition for Probate and Letters of Administration”; “Challenging a will”; and “SEDA”. We had 80 participants.

Meeting With YA Datuk Nallini Pathmanathan, Managing Judge Of The Kuala Lumpur High Court Commercial Division And Civil Subordinate Courts
The meeting with the Managing Judge of the Kuala Lumpur High Court Commercial Division was held on Thursday, 18 March 2021 at 3:30pm at Bilik Anggerik, Level 6, Kuala Lumpur Court Complex. Also present at the meeting were Judges of the Kuala Lumpur High Court Commercial Division. The Kuala Lumpur Bar Committee was represented by the Chairman, Vivekananda Sukumaran, the Co-Chairperson of Civil Practice & Court Liaison Committee, Nizam Bashir and the Kuala Lumpur Bar’s Representative on the Bar Council, Harleen Kaur (Leena).
Among the issues discussed were Remote Technology Protocol, issues pertaining to online hearings, lawyers’ etiquette during online hearings and eReview proceedings.

It was held via Zoom Meeting from 3:00pm to 6:00pm and covered the basics of criminal law and procedures and the practical aspects of remand, bail and mitigation. We had 66 participants.

Meeting With Datin Sabariah, Supervisory Judge Of Criminal Subordinate Courts
The meeting was held on Wednesday, 24 March 2021 at 2:30pm at Bilik Anggerik, Level 6, Kuala Lumpur Court Complex and attended by the Chairman of the Kuala Lumpur Bar Committee, Vivekananda Sukumaran and Chairperson of the Criminal Law Practice Committee, Collin Arvind Andrew. Also in attendance were representatives from KL LAC, Jeevanathan Angappan and Nursyahirah Mohammad Jubri.
Among the issues discussed were touting, Legal Aid/YBGK room at the Kuala Lumpur Court Complex, remand proceedings and other related matters. The Courts also provided feedback regarding conduct of criminal practitioners.

At the invitation of the Kuala Lumpur Start-up Summit 2021 (KLSS), Co-Chairpersons of the Technology Committee, Terrence Lee Rohui and Thulasy Suppiah attended the LegalTech Track session which was held via Airmeet on Sunday, 28 March 2021, 10:00am to 5:15pm. The topics discussed were, (i) the advent and rise of legaltech; (ii) innovation in law firms; and (iii) the impact of the recent pandemic on the legaltech scene.
