Seminar on Key Tax Considerations in Investing in Malaysia
Organised by the Professional Development Committee, this seminar was presented by Thenesh Kannaa at the KL Bar Auditorium from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. The seminar was attended by 23 participants and covered, amongst others, “An Overview of Malaysia Tax System”; “Tax Incentives”; “ Withholding Tax”; “ Expatriate Taxation”; “Indirect Taxation”; and “Tax Issues in Merger and Acquisition”.

Seminar for Lawyers on Understanding Clients’ Corporate Annual Reports & its Financial Statements 
Organised by the Professional Development Committee, this seminar was presented by Lim Kien Chai at the KL Bar Auditorium from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. The seminar was attended by 55 participants and covered, amongst others, "Introductory on its importance"; "Accounting jargons made understandable for lawyers"; "What are the components of Annual Report?"; "What are these: ledger accounts, journal entries, double-entries, T-accounts?"; "Why this term “Trial Balance”?"; "Why this term “Balance Sheet”?"; "What are the salient features of a Balance Sheet?"; "What are and the types of Assets?"; "What are and the types of Liabilities?"; and " Are Balance Sheet’s liabilities an indication of “not good” financial position and/or poor financial management”.

Workshop on Understanding Applications, Coding & Tech for Lawyers 
Organised by the Information Technology and Publications Committee, this workshop, presented by Yeap Yuen Lye and Gooi Liang Zheng at the KL Bar Auditorium from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm, provided lawyers a glimpse into the world of coding and how computer languages operate which may later be levied to help lawyers with legal practice. The seminar was attended by 22 participants.

2-Day Practical Workshop on Basic Conveyancing Practice 
Organised by the Corporate and Conveyancing Practice Committee, this workshop was presented by Lee Peck Ha, R. Yogeswari, Dennis Teoh, Susan Joseph, Chong Wai Kuan, Nahzatul Ain binti Mohd Khalid, Sarah binti Kambali and Daphne Lew Chah Yee at the KL Bar Auditorium from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. The workshop was attended by 67 participants and covered, amongst others, “Options to Purchase”; “Crafting the Final SPA”; “Conditions, Precedents and Subsequent”; “Private Caveats”; “Cooperation from the Support Staff”; “Conflict of Interest”; “Clients Management”; “Clients’ Interest”; “Risk Management”; “Land Acquisition”; “RPGT (Act 169)”; “Completion Delays”; and “Conveyancing Process A-Z”.
