Pupils Introduction Session
Pupils Introduction Session
A monthly tradition, the September’s Pupils Introduction Session was held on 6 September 2017. The session, attended by 74 pupils, was led by Alvin Oh. The purpose of the session is to introduce pupils to the structure of the Malaysian Bar and the Kuala Lumpur Bar, the election to both the Bar Council and the Kuala Lumpur Bar Committee (“KLBC”) and the highlights of the Malaysian Bar. It included a session for pupils to raise issues and problems faced by them during their pupillage period. The executive committee members of the KLBC were present to provide input and possible solutions to those issues and problems raised by the pupils. For the Diversity Awareness Session, the Kuala Lumpur Bar Committee Chairman, Goh Siu Lin, spoke on “Unconscious Bias”. As in previous sessions, the pupils were also shown a video montage of the History of the Malaysian Bar.

Silver Jubilee Gala Dinner
The Kuala Lumpur Bar Silver Jubilee Gala Dinner, was held on 9 September 2017 at the Grand Summit Ballroom @ the Vertical, Connexion Conference and Event Centre, Bangsar South City, Kuala Lumpur, themed “Nostalgia”. It was a special night. We celebrated a glorious milestone – 25 years of the Kuala Lumpur Bar! The night kicked off with a dance performance by the Jemari Dancers and to infuse sparkle and nostalgia into our festivities, we had renowned Malaysian singing sensation Nora Ariffin who entertained the crowd with her dulcet vocals. We were also proud to have our homegrown talents from the Bar performing many nostalgia songs throughout the night. Not forgetting the sacrifices and contribution of our past Chairmen that have made the Kuala Lumpur Bar what it is today, we honoured each and every one of them on this very special occasion and celebrated with a cake-cutting ceremony. It was indeed a special night!
