EHC - Old/disused paper collection on 20.04.2010

KL Bar Environmental and Humanities Committee

'Old/disused paper collection on 20.04.2010'

in conjunction with the 40th Anniversary of Earth Day

Forty years after the first Earth Day, the world is in greater peril than ever. While climate change is the greatest challenge of our time, it also presents the greatest opportunity – an unprecedented opportunity to build a healthy, prosperous, clean energy economy now and for the future. Earth Day 2010 is a pivotal opportunity for individuals, corporations and governments to join together and create a global green economy.

In 2009, KL Bar Environmental & Humanities Committee as part of their awareness campaign has organised a simple event for members to participate in the Earth Day Celebrations. This involves encouraging all members to recycle on that day by holding an 'Old / disused paper collection' exercise at the KL Bar Secretariat.

In 2010, we will continue with the success of last year’s campaign. In fact, this campaign is the first in our list of agenda this year to promote enhanced environmental and humanities protection.

We encourage all of you to be part of this activity and show your concern not just for the environment but also for the future of your children. The effectiveness of this campaign lies in your participation and not just the amount of paper collected.

The paper collection will be held between 10.00 am to 3.00 pm on the 20th April 2010, KL Bar, 8th Floor, Wisma Kraftangan, No.9 Jalan Tun Perak, 50050 Kuala Lumpur.

Proceeds from the sale will go directly towards conservation projects planned by the Environmental & Humanities Committee.

Re-cycle and save the environment.

Thank you.
