The Social, Arts and Culture Committee of the Kuala Lumpur Bar (“SAC”) recently held a non-monetary collection drive, which lasted for about a month, for the underprivileged children of Rainbow Home at No. 125, Jalan Pakis 2, Taman Fengrove, Cheras, 43200 Selangor. On 19 September 2009, members of SAC together with Mary Tan (Executive Secretary) and Melissa Linda Dass (Executive Officer) lugged bags and boxes of donated items (medicine, clothings, canned food, flour, etc) from the KL Bar Secretariat to the Home.
At the Home, the children including a 7 year old boy, Ah Chung, who were all very excited with our arrival, helped to unload the items.
We then spent some time talking to the children - one boy, Ah Sam, even showed us how to master the art of Rubik’s Cube. At the end of the visit, we bid our goodbyes to them, and all of us went home pleased and somewhat grateful to what we have.
