The KLBC will be implementing a system whereby candidates who are intending to stand for election at the AGM will be announced on the KL Bar Blog. Members may thereafter pose questions or queries to the respective candidates on issues of concern or interest. The candidates may respond but are not obliged to do so. It is hoped this mechanism will promote awareness and a better understanding of the candidates who wish to seek election at the AGM on 26 February 2009.
The KLBC would like to invite all candidates who are intending to run for the position of Chairman, Kuala Lumpur Bar's Representative to the Bar Council and Committee Member, to email the following information to klbc@klbar.org.my before 5pm, 18 February 2009:
(i) Name;
(ii) Photograph; and
(iii) Brief particulars of themselves in not more than half an A4 sized page
Subject to the moderation by the KLBC, the above information will be posted on the KL Bar Blog on 19 February 2009.
Candidates who are intending to stand for election are not obliged to submit the above information for publication on the KL Bar Blog. All candidates will still have to be proposed and seconded at the AGM.
